OSCE stands for Objective Structured Clinical Examination. This format tests clinical skills in a controlled, standardized way across multiple stations, each with a specific task such as taking a history, performing a physical exam, communicating with a patient, or interpreting findings. At every station, performance is judged using predefined checklists or rubrics, which keeps scoring objective and comparable across students. Often standardized patients, mannequins, or simulations are used to ensure the same scenario is presented to everyone, reducing variability.
